Who We Are
Our Identity
We are not a partisan organization.
We help bring people together from different walks of life who may have different ideas about how to resolve challenges.
We are not a political organization.
We bring people from all walks of life and political identities together to learn from one another and deepen relationships even across various political opinions.
We do not promote uniformity.
We affirm the beauty of different people from different walks of life within the body of Christ, working toward oneness rooted in grace and mutual understanding, even in the absence of common likes and preferences.
We do not view reconciliation as a one-time achievement.
We affirm reconciliation as an ongoing process that requires continued humility, intentionality, and reliance on God’s grace.
We are not focused solely on racial reconciliation.
We work toward reconciliation across all dividing lines—racial, ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic—while addressing the specific history and challenges of racial division.
We do not replace the work of the Church.
We partner with churches and Christian organizations, equipping them to lead in reconciliation and to demonstrate oneness in Christ.
We are not limited by geography.
While rooted in Mississippi, we aim to inspire oneness and reconciliation that can be modeled and multiplied beyond our state.
We ask the hard questions.
We are committed to asking questions that are uncomfortable while creating and sustaining spaces where they can be discussed safely, graciously, and filled with hope.
We address real-life challenges.
We are issue-based, focusing on contemporary issues that impact people’s daily lives with courage and grace.
We prioritize relationships.
We are relationship-driven, encouraging people to continue cultivating healthy relationships across difference even when they become difficult or uncomfortable.
We empower local leaders.
We value local leadership and intentional interactions across difference and division, recognizing its personal and societal benefits.
We demonstrate that being a Christian makes a difference.
Mission Mississippi’s efforts are evangelistic, showing the world the authentic power of Christianity through reconciled lives.
